Bradford District Lines is out in the world!

May 6, 2026

Bradford District Lines was launched on Saturday 2 May, 2026, at the Kirkgate Centre in Shipley, home of the publisher, Ings Press.

Ryall Hill’s Bradford District Lines is out in the world. Initial orders have been despatched and it was launched in person to an enthusiastic audience in Shipley, where Hill read extracts from several of the short stories in the volume, including one for the ‘home’ postcode, BD18.

And in discussion with publisher, Mike Farren, as well as discussing his route into writing and his approach to documenting Bradford life in fiction, Hill revealed that he has plans to turn that very short story, entitled Family Break, into a novel.

There are three more opportunities to hear Ryall Hill read from his debut collection, all of them featuring Bradford writing legend Bill Broady as guest reader. These are:

Keighley Library, North Street, Thursday 7 May, 7:00-8:30pm

South Square, Thornton, Friday 8 May, 7.30-9pm

Bradford City Library, Centenary Square, Friday 15th May, 7:00-8:30pm
